There's something I've lately acquired an interest in getting into, but I'd first like to talk with someone who's into it (or has been).  But, well... this thing is a bit embarrassing, and I'd feel awkward blurting out HEY I WANNA TRY [THIS] HAS ANYONE ELSE

I have many friends interested in many different kinds of things. You were too vague, I don't even know the general area of what you're referring to beyond "embarrassing" which is kind of subjective anyway. If I knew what specifically you were looking more I might be able to point you at like-minded friends, which was my thinking, but I'm not just going to point all of my friends at your LJ so they can play twenty questions and probably not be the kind of person you're seeking. :P

I was actually being facetious. :)  The first part of my post is actually true, and when the second part came to me as a solution I thought it was funny.  I don't really expect anyone to come post an embarrassing laundry list of their foibles in someone's public LJ entry.
