I find it ironic that the Federal Government can't even implement biometric fingerprint technology on important things requiring security, like US Passports for example; however the commercial world will likely beat them to the punch with a fingerprint-activated washing machine - 'cos that's so important.

the problem is the gov't is stubbornly sticking to outdated and inefficient methods...
however.
the gov't *is* listening to what our team is developing along those lines....

Wouldn't that make doing laundry impossible if one of you were out of town?

I read a thing recently on how lots of gyms are using thumb scanners instead of ID cards now so that you can't cheat their membership by giving other people your card. Raises some privacy concerns, but it's interesting.

biometric information is the last thing i'd ever want implemented on something important.

what happens when your biometric information is stolen? you can't exactly change it like a password...
