Ah, I think I know what you mean by saying we probably don't care, but you feel better after saying it.

It's great you did. I don't know what position your lj friends have in your life, but telling us is a nice gesture, especially since here, private things aren't shared that often and we can't know things the other person doesn't want to share - we only know how someone presents themself to us. So if you want to share this part of you, one of the rather few private details about you, I think that's great.

(I don't know if what I'm trying to say is coming across right... I hope this does make sense in some ways.)
