Ack. Sometimes I wonder how activism, or more accurately, protests create a positive influence on society these days. I'm actually fairly anti-protest for many issues because I find they tend to hinder rather help a lot of situations. This doesn't mean that I'm anti reform, I just don't find protests to be one of the more effective methods of

I don't think you're a jackass, probably cuz I'm the same way :P I've never been very activist-y either cuz you're right, generally-speaking, big wigs don't listen to protesters much.

Heh, I also found out it wasn't just a protest. The actual protest was last week, which obviously porduced nothing, but that I had no problems with. The one that happened yesterday [I found out on the news] was to block the councillors from discussing the increases and how they would be allocated. Heh, now I understand the security measures, they were blocking doors to a buliding so people couldn't get in.... I definitely disagree with hostile encounters such as that.
