Wow.. man, I just RANDOMLY happened to catch the skating of the Chinese couple who fell? That was CRAZY. I was flipping and saw it was on and was watching and all of a sudden he threw her in the air and she fell and like ran into the boards and I was like :O:O:O:O!!!!! And I can't believe they were able to pull themselves together and skate the rest of the program and like RIGHT after they started again he was throwing her in the air AGAIN! I would be so terrified of falling.. anyway in conclusion I totally agree with you that they are awesome, because she must've been in so much physical & mental pain and to have skated so well after that is remarkable :D *applauds*

Actually, the ones I think are awesome aren't the ones who fell last night (the Zhangs)... they're the ones who were third (Shen & Zhao). Zhao had a serious injury that took them off the ice for several months pre-Olys and they only started training for real about a month ago, and they still managed to win a medal. Amazing! I think the Dan Zhang was really courageous to pull off that performance after falling so hard, but I still think it wasn't really worthy of a medal and they got some extra marks because the judges were so wowed by the fact she could skate at all after that fall.

Sorry to hear about Val and Craig. I hope GRATE RICHARD makes them put the t3S earlier in their program. The reward isn't worth the risk of doing it so late.

For the sake of D&D, I hope Jessica doesn't grow any more. Bekky neg repped me in the Pairs LP thread over at FSU. I'm pretty sure it was because I criticized Jessica's posture and Bryce's lifts. ;)

HAHAHA, Bekky POS repped me yet again for some random comment I made in defense of Kurt Browning! And yeah, I hope Jess doesn't grow more, either. I don't have problems with her posture, really, and Bryce is usually very steady on the lifts, which is why I was surprised by their lift problems of late.

ORANGENESS is hott! *snikkerz*

Okay, when I first read "Bekky POS repped," the POS did not stand for POSITIVE. *snikkerz*

Jessica seemed a little round-shouldered last night, which surprised me, and Bryce's feet were all over the place on the lifts, which also surprised me. Maybe it was the pressure getting to them, or maybe they're just in a transitional stage where they have to learn to adapt their technique to Jessica's new body, or both.

Lolllz, I totally need an ikon of the ORANGE LIGHT OF PAIRS. *snikkerz*

Brej, that fall freaked me out so much that I shrieked/gasped every single time they showed it from another angle. And I may have, um, started to cry just thinking about the pain. :S

But you know, it's funny that I know next to nothing about this figure skating business - or not nearly enough to be a good judge of things - and even I could see that that was not a skate worthy of a silver medal. I was rooting for them by the end just because her drive was impressive under the circumstances, but still...no.

Peh.

Aw, I'm kinda gonna miss Totmianina and Marinin. Not for the skating (although they're much, MUCH more impressive in person), because she in particular is just devoid of any kind of on-ice presence, but for the bitchiness. I mean, who else is going to give you moments like...
NBC: "You were watching when Zhang Dan fell... what was going through your mind?"
Tatiana the Ice Queen: "Nothing special."

I mean, since the dancers pretty much stopped scratching each other's eyes out, she's pretty much all I've had for the last few years.

Obertas/Slavnov make my eyes bleed. There is just something incredibly irritating about them and their skating. Good thing I like Savchenko/Szolkowy.
