Thanks Sarah. As weird as this sounds, going on with "life" (like classes, finding work, doing simple things like laundry and cooking meals) seems wrong right now...just b/c there are so many people who can't. I mean, even my family, who has always been pretty fortunate, just had to get up and leave, since they have nothing down there anymore. And I still have so much up here; my school is still standing, my friends are still alive, I have food in my fridge, and it feels so...wrong. I wish our campus would do something similar to what yours is doing. I'm going to poke around today and see what's going on.
i do know what you mean. i was walking to my car after psych just a minute ago and i saw an ambulance near the rec (where the special needs shelter is) and then i saw nat'l guard/army guys standing around the rec a little further down. to see that and then drive up to my nearly new apt? its awful.
today in biology we spent the whole hour and 15 minutes talking about it. and he said we'll probably talk more about it tuesday.
even if your campus isnt doing anything (where do you go to school again?) you can always send a check to the red cross or another organization
