I don't understand your description of Ricky as lovable with his stealing from you and using heroin. I guess I'm not as easygoing as you, Glenn. Protect yourself and really consider getting a canine companion soon. I don't know what I'd do without Bella! I'm very sorry to hear both of your dogs passed away in the same year!
I am so sorry you had to but so happy you made Ricky move out. That is exactly how I feel too. And I actually feel relieved and more relaxed since he is gone.
Thank you! My door is a rarity. The trim is called "spool molding". It was turned on a lathe, and then cut into quarters longitudinally. It is very distinctive. The door dates to the 1850s, but was not a common type even then. I believe mine is the only house in Syracuse with this type of trim on the door.
Sorry that you had few trick-or-treaters too this year. Do you think that this old tradition is dying out in the US? ...Or is this a temporary anomaly due to Covid?
Love the wreath on the door.. and the way you explain all things.. you are , as i've sd b4, great with your posts...
So sad about Ricky.. and I was a tad afraid for you till I read that you did get rid of him.. that fight with Poppin is scary enough alone for a read.. and I wouldn't want that kind of drama around me in case one of those cocktails were thrown into my home! Ack! You had to do what I would have done as well..
And am in hopes you DO get a new dog companion.. would be nice for protection... and the Loving of course!! :)
Take Care, Glenn.. Enjoy the Holiday spirit if you can.. good energies and love coming your way!!
Thanks, Randy! I enjoy writing these posts. They really should be called photo essays. It is another opportunity to do something creative. :-)
Yeah, I am very sad about how Ricky's life has turned for the worse. He has so much potential: he is smart, has a lovable personality, he is tall and lean with handsome good looks and a great, sexy body. Unfortunately he is straight, and an emotional mess. I can't help him if he is not willing to help himself.
I am looking forward to getting a new dog. It is far too quiet and lonely in this house.
I am so sorry to hear about Ricky. That the drugs won out over everything in the end. What you say about his feud with the drug dealer sounds terrifying. Glad to hear you have changed the lock. Do you have window locks as well?
Thanksgiving must have been so hard this year, without Lily and Chloe. But I'm sure the right dog will be out there, waiting for you, at the right time.
Thank you! Thanksgiving was very hard on me this year. I know that both of the dogs enjoyed Thanksgivings here in the past, and I really missed their presence.
Ricky's stealing was very annoying, but it was just money. His feud with Poppin was potentially a threat to my home and life. I feel sorry for Ricky, but I can't have that kind of dangerous drama in my life.
I have locks on all of the windows. Now that the weather is colder I won't need to use them until Spring, so they can stay shut and locked. I plan to upgrade the security here, and definitely will get a new dog to help with that and provide some loving companionship.

I love your front door. So cool. :)

I live on the older side of town.
It's sad to think that trick or treating might be dying out. :o :o :o
I am sure Covid didn't help matters.
