Desiree and I went to see The Namesake a couple of weeks back at the AFI Film Festival. I've never been to the Angelika in Dallas before. Anyway, it was a solid film that I thought really showed a different perspective on the way that things are in different cultures, and how difficult it is for immigrants. I would highly recommend it.

I enjoyed that film, too. Mira Nair is a wonderful director... have you seen Monsoon Wedding?

I would recommend it. She also directed the latest movie version of Vanity Fair, which I also enjoyed. She always finds an interesting way of fusing her culture into each of her films - something I really admire.

p.s. how are you?
