Why can something be legalized

But not illegalized?

I just thought of this while writing my paper. Is it actually a word and the masses simply don't use it? Or can we honestly do one but not the other?

I have a hunch that, thanks to Gerard Way (of My Chemical Romance), the emo population will now bleach their hair to platinum and LEAVE it that way, instead of black.
