Speech on Destiny

By Friday, I have to write a speech on "Destiny."  Here it is...

I agree about God and DEstiny. REligon used to be a frightening ultimate law to scare man into line, and create order. it gave commadnments, do not kill, don't marry close relatives, etc, thigns which were helpfula nd necessary to the species. we now have knowledge and organized society. why cling to an outdated illusion of safety? the test of a bird is the moment it jumps out of the nest, spreads it's wings, and soars. it is time to leave the nest and it's safety.

Some people still think they can't fly. They should try it.

Fitting this comment comes right after seeing "Inherit the Wind over at OP. Scopes, Drummond, all that. darwinism.

Yeah, religion can be a real crutch...but still, it's a crutch that many and most people need. I dont question anyone else's belief in God, but i definitely question my own. What are we, anyhow, other than introspective, curious creatures! If god is one man's joy, then ice cream is mine.
