So, first of all, I've decided to change my writing time to during the day (starting tomorrow, obviously), This will allow me to focus on my writing more, cause I don't really care about the things I watch on TV during the day as much. Days 13&14
Once again, I skipped a day. I suck at this whole everyday thing. More of the same today, more orchestrating. I finished the A section, and I quite like how it came out. ummm...I don't really know what else to say... so.... g'night! -
day 12
Hey! I remembered! More of the same today, but i'm really liking how the A sections sounds all orchestrated. I can properly build and layer things so it sounds good and not just repetitive. Other than that, nothing else to say but my feet and nose are cold. Time for bed. Night! -
days 10+11
I need to stop skipping days. Anyways, I worked more on the instrumentation, which takes forever. It's mildly annoying to have to make sure that everything lines up, especially when you can't see all the lines on the screen at the same time. I also changed the opening chorsd abit to make them fuller and and more resonant ( Read more... ) -
days 8+9
I done it again... forgot to write that is. Which actually turned out to be a good thing, since I decided to start the orchestrating like I've been saying I needed to do, and orchestrating takes alot longer than just writing it out, especially when you are transcribing between files on finale. day 7
So, it's technically late, but my day's worth of composing is done. Not much revolutionary done today, Just a bit of Bassline/ melody swapping. Personally, its a sound I really like, even if we were told to not use it so much in Composition. Other than that, I really should orchestrate soon. Day 6
Soooo... we accidentally skipped yesterday. Therefore, I did 20 minutes today. I got into the B section, and I'm definitely liking it a bit better, though I do need to move to an orchestrated score soon. I think that will ease all, or at least, most, of my complaints about how it sounds, cause with an orchestration, I can layer things and make ( Read more... ) -
Day 4
So, i did a bit more than 10 minutes today, mainly cause I wasn't satisfied with how everything was sounding. Basically, I have decided to embrace my dreams of being someone who writes music for video games, and am working very much in that style. Day 3
Day 3 of my quest is completed. Not much progress today, just finishing out my A section. I'm not really satisfied with some of my connecting figures, but I've never really been to good at those. Maybe I can work on those tomorrow. -
Wrisomifu, Day 2
Day 2 of my composition is complete. I started into what is probably gonna be my A section today. I'm sticking with the Western Film score sound for now, for a few reasons. First of all, it's easy and diatonic, so it basically writes itself. Secondly, I really like the sound. It may be simple, but it invokes a real primal response in me. I ( Read more... )
