Keep on keepin' on.

Trying to keep up with this LJ thing is a challenge -- things are pretty good, which means there's less to talk about. I saw this quote from Kobain the other day: "Thanks for the tragedy, I need it for my art." It's true sometimes that banking frustration and anxiety means you get to spend it on making something as a way to process things. I ( Read more... )

It offers a lot and the beauty of it all is that you don't have to pay a monthly subscription fee. Time is not money so you can spend as much time as you want doing whatever. The business model provides some very noticeable advantages to their gaming model and does a great job of promoting cooperation among players instead of unintended competition.

I also think you'll get a big kick out of the dynamic world events. Don't get even me started on World vs World...

Kat's been playing GW2 again on the Maguuma server. What server are you playing on?

If you get the time, make some characters on Maguuma too. Kat and I have characters there, as well as Dave and Aimee who have been playing again. One of the neat things about this game is that you don't need to be the same level as your friends to play with them. If you take a higher level character into a lower level zone, the game scales your character down to a power level appropriate to the zone. You still get XP and some of the item drops are for your real level range, so there's no discouragement from playing through low level areas. That's also neat because a lot of the game is checking out the areas and what's going on in them, and they're never trivialized by leveling past them.

I increasingly find that the more pleasant and fulfilled my life is, the less I am compelled to post online and the more I just want to connect over the phone or in private email. It's difficult to be out there and keep up that positive energy. There are just too many people willing to drag you down.

Regardless, I'm so glad to hear that things are going well for y'all. You and Chrissie deserve some happy, and peace and quiet. You should definitely travel if you have the funds - it's always the most fulfilling thing you can do.

We look forward to seeing y'all. :)

I've been contemplating Italy as well. Finances being what they are post move, it may actually happen. We'll see.
