Its pretty much about a Japanese girl rehashing her life story. she gets sold to a geisha house and recieves cruuel treatment from her authority figures and other upper-class geishas. Ughh, she eventually gets help from this other geisha and is welcomed into society with class, skill and wealth. but there is more to being a geisha than that, so i suggest you read it.
