I just loved the whole thing, really. Kate making the first move like that was very amusing. And this:

“Oh, yeah, Jack. Nothing,” Kate repeated, her grin spreading slowly in response to his smirk.
“Kate, she means nothing to me,” he said solemnly, brushing her hand and holding her eyes for a moment.
“You haven't exactly made that clear,” she murmured.
“I'm making it clear now,” he said.
