My son is never going to learn English. Want to know why?
Because instead of saying things like this: "Ohh! Did someone make a little poopy? Does the little poopy make the itty baby happy?"
I say things like this: "Are you happy now that your bowels have been evacuated?"
Yes, that's an exact quote. Ugh.

i thought baby talk was only useful for its tone, not its content. if i remember what i read about it correctly, that is.

I'm pretty sure my parents might've actually referred to it as "bowel movement" when I was a kid, and I turned out... well, maybe a little weird, but generally alright. (Having a doctor dad might explain some of it?)

My mom is a nurse and with me and my brother she always used the term 'BM', which is what nurses write on their patients' charts for said act.

Haha... I think the first commenter is right though... I think baby talk is bad for speech development.
