Today I rode 8.947 miles in 43 minutes, 14 seconds, for an average speed of 12.4 mph (0.3 up from last time, yay!) Though probably last ride was a bit more of a workout--the extra distance today involved going a few extra blocks to hit Dairy Queen, so, y'know, net energy output today probably a good deal less. *grin ( Read more... )

This is ten gallons of awesome in a five-gallon bucket. What starts out as a guy thinking to himself "Hmm, I'll give my wife a little quiet time by taking the seven-year-old with me when I go buy Keep on the Shadowfell" turns into one of the funniest and coolest introduction-to-tabletop-roleplaying experiences I've ever read about. So today's the third time in a row I've made the one-way in under half an hour with no rest breaks. Go, me.

Also (but less than it was) ow.

ETA: Home. Make that four. I really should start timing myself. Now, a short rest, and then groceries. Eating something more than a granola bar at some point today would probably be a good thing.

17-mph headwinds SUCK. But I still made it to work on time.

Also, at least the ride home will be easier, unless typing this causes the wind to shift.
