Oh, man. Good luck with that. Fraktur makes my eyes cross after about five minutes.

My wonderful husband, who lived in Germany for 16 years, whose first wife was German, and whose daughters are German, informs me that pre-WWII German is different than post-WWII German.
Not that it helps, just thought it was an interesting tidbit of knowledge. You probably already knew that, though. :-)

Oh yeah, and their regonalisms are much more pronounced. Saxons and Bavarians don't always use the same words and pronunciations can differ as well.
