My computer is apparently getting ready to crash and burn. I keep getting signals that the hard-drive is going bad and the speed has gone way, way down from what it was. Some days I can get to LJ  and sometimes I can't.

Hubby will eventually get me another computer but it will be a while as he's busy with his students and his never-ending load of

when's the last time you cleaned out
random bits delete out crap clean out the memory
can you open it up? turn it off.. .
if you can put your finger in the center of the fan
to stop it from spinning . they can over spin and burn out the
* main intel chip
and vacuum out all the dust and fur
open up the disk drive leave it open turn it back off
and clean it up. mine was packed with fur!
then pull off every wire and reconnect them all.
this should give you time to get the new computer.
even if this helps

Excellent idea! If I can get over this head-cold by next week I'd like to get Jollyson over to help me do a few things and one of them will be to tend to this computer.

most often its the connections that wiggle free
or dust causing over heating.
hope your cold goes away faster
