Plotting...

I've decided I've recuperated long enough. It's time to start hacking on one of my new sewing patterns, namely the Elaeis Shirt that I got from Mood Fabrics.

Here's a picture of it should you like to see it:

This calls to mind a long-ago co-worker of mine who once stated that she and all moms could be in bed with the "'flu" for exactly one day and then had to be up on her feet again: Moms, she said, have no time to be sick/ill.

And I think I have to agree that one day's just about my limit, too, but for me it's because being hampered by some silly virus is so BORING.

I agree. Having to take time off to be "sick" is boring.

Unfortunately, I better take it because not taking it could make me get a lot sicker and then land me in the hospital.

Also, I'm in exercise classes with much older people. I'd never forgive myself if I gave them my cold.

I just can't do that to people who've had heart attacks or heart surgery in the past year.

The RVT at yesterday's visit to the vet mentioned to us that she likes repairing, restoring, mending, making do to replacing, and that she had, when the knees in a pair of jeans wore out, cut away the frayed area and backed it with a piece of heavy lace. We didn't have much chance to talk about it, but it seems to me some other backing fabric would be wanted between the lace and one's skin, no?

Definitely!

Lace may look fragile but it feels like sandpaper when it's up against your skin for any length of time.
