Friday's Housework...

Oct 25, 2024 18:12

I think I've finally caught up with the last of today's housework:

I washed a load of my own clothes early after folding a load of stuff and then shoving another load of stuff into the dryer.

I cleaned the back bathroom (big mirror, throne, rugs, etc.) and then set the whirlpool tub up for its cleaning cycle. (Thank Heaven that's done now.)

Doesn't it feel good, to get all caught up on daily or weekly chores!

And, a reward (library book give-away) afterward!

Sadly the library book give-away turned out to be 100% books for little kids and middle school kids, but they had a great selection for them. I couldn't believe how many people turned up for the book give-away!

[The French door curtain-washing and door scrubbing is usually part of my annual fall chore list.]

Sorry to hear that the book give-away wasn't so thrilling for adults, but I'm much encouraged to know that kids are able to get their hands on books---and that they are, apparently, eager to get them!

My folks taught us kids to love reading, and from early childhood to this very minute my favorite gift to receive, even if it's from myself, is a book. Hard copy books are wonderful; they are friends to be cherished.

I know I've got loads to do in the way of windows, floors and doors, but right now I am still tackling garden chores and touching up some outside paint on the front porch.

You and I both have loads to do in the way of windows, floors, and doors.

We have rain in the forecast for Wednesday, so before then, I want to clean the kitchen sink window while the ground is still dry. It's the hardest window to get to. I have to crawl up on our ladder to get to it on the outside and I have to use the kitchen steps to get to it inside the house.

I plan on washing the kitchen curtains today too.

Yeah, I need to do a lot of what you describe but being all alone has cut back on both dishwasher and clothes washer use. But all the curtains in the house need to be washed and their respective windows cleaned, a chore I despise. Little by little, I suppose.

What is it about windows that everybody dislikes so much???
Saturday afternoon I spent over an hour cleaning both sides of those French doors.
Problem was that later I couldn't round my Hubby up to help me put the curtains back up--so definitely we'll have to do it today.

Well done, you. I still have stuff around here to tackle. You are my inspiration!

Your "inspiration" got up this morning and held her nose while she reluctantly cleared the old stuff out of the refrigerator. I'm gearing up for another refrigerator deep-clean--but not today--probably tomorrow while my Hubby is away at work.
