Do you expect to be needing any of these defenses any time soon? Particularly, standing your ground in Mexico?

Heaven help me, I hope not, BUT....stranger things have happened.
Knowledge is power and you never know whether someone on reading this finds out something that becomes vitally important to them in the future.
I don't know why anyone would bother invading my house unless they wanted to steal books or fabric.

Not yet. It’s unusual for this time of year, but the weather is actually tolerable. That’s global warming for you.

We've been having afternoon shirt-sleeve weather where I live when usually we have our first snow by now.
I even have a little feral tomato vine that's trying to grow and bloom up next to our house.
