The Deed is DONE! (Warning: Description!)

After yowling like a tomcat (while the numbing needle was going in) the rest of my tooth pulling experience was anticlimactic because I truly didn't feel anything.

My oral surgeon's crusty ol' nurse chuckled when I requested the "rhino-strength" numbing agent and then I went on to tell her that I'd had problems with staying fully numb while my ( Read more... )

Yeah, I got the mega dise of novocaine yesterday and it took half a day to sort of wear off. I'm glad, though, because as I was warned, it was an aggressive root canal...ouch. Better today but still hurts a good amount.

the worst novocaine shot i ever had was in the roof of my mouth. it made tears pour down my face! *shudders*. but it numbed me up good, and i had a similar reaction with the extensive numbing. from my ear to my nose, and not just the outside of my nose but the inside too.

I've yet to encounter another shot that hurts worse than those roof-of-the-mouth shots. They are total agony to have to get but they do a serious job of numbing you up good and proper.
I'm so sorry you've had to have one too.

I'm glad the painkillers are working. Dental work is never fun.

Anybody who says they'd like to travel back in time has never considered what life was like back in the "old days".
I say NO THANKS! [Just imagine what life was like having a tooth taken out with proper numbing!]

He sent me home with the "good stuff". It kept me comfortable all day yesterday and I was able to go to sleep properly and get my rest. Here's the odd thing though: When I woke up, I woke up pain-free and I've stayed that way all day today. I haven't taken a single pain pill--not even an aspirin! My face IS a bit sensitive to the touch in places but that's all.

I did call his office to let him know how well I was doing at noon today. (It must be all those vitamins I take--they must help speed the healing process or something.)
