I got a slow cooker not too long ago, and I find it fun to use. You would still have to remember your flavorings though. Make yourself something spicy to clear out those sinuses.

I've got a slow cooker as well -- it's what I used for the beef stew. My problem is finding decent recipes. I've got a whole book full of them, but for some reason, I just can't manage to get my act together enough to make some. And then there's the whole beef stew issue -- I know what went wrong (we ran out of bouillon, so it lacked enough beefy flavor in the broth), but I can't manage to shake this feeling of inadequacy in my cooking abilities. :( Got any good resources for slow cooker recipes that aren't too complicated, though?

I've made chicken curry twice, using potatoes, carrots and onions, and that works well, although the sauce is watery rather than thick and creamy (it is just chicken broth after all). I've also made Filipino-style chicken adobo twice, once for a pot luck, and it was well received. It's very easy: soy sauce, vinegar, and black pepper are the only essential seasonings, although I also put ginger, garlic, onion and a bay leaf.
