Thanks! I miss writing. A lot of what used to go on LJ is going on G+ now- but the really big ones still come here. I've been busy lately, but I imagine I'll be writing more this spring. That seems to be how it goes.

We should talk- it's been too long, and I think I still owe you a call.

Going to germany last time made me realize that there IS a city our family can call home. It's not Karlsruhe, where our grandparents ended up in, but Freiburg. SO many Weilands live there, or lived there for such a long time. And they keep coming back. Before my last trip Freiburg was always a different, slightly unfamiliar city to me. This time I realized that Freiburg is OUR city. You and I may never have lived in Freiburg, but we have been visiting that city for nearly thirty years. Anytime you want, you can visit a family member that grew up there or a family member that didnt' grow up there but moved there. Last time I visited I got the sense that this was our city and in some ways it's more our city than it is the city of some of the locals.
