Last night I found myself speechless, looking at page 535 of Ceefax for nearly five minutes.

"Aftermath", the new single from R.E.M., failed to hit the top 40 Chart.It just missed out by going in at number 41

Woah! That is one huge indication that the singles charts mean FA. I'm not a fan of REM particularly, but I'm shocked more people haven't bought their single. The Quo had a top 20 hit recently, and I'm surprised that REM's fanbase hasn't purchased it. That's lower than both of Roger Taylor's singles from 1998/1999 which whilst great, were not promoted and he is not an artist of their stature. I'm lost for words.
