3. is celebrated illiterate George W Bush (idiot) (almost making a good point, though);

5. is celebrated non-lady Margaret T;

and 7. is celebrated tyrant and madman Robert Mugabe.

Oh is the picture not loading? You need to match the hair to the quote. Twitpic is shit, so I've moved and you can try again.

Ah! New game. Well, 5A is therefore Maggie, 7B is Mugabe and 3C is Dubya.

And that means 10E is Sarah Palin.

FOUR POINTINGS

1 sounds like the sort of brutal observation G would make.
2 is seductively reasonable so far as it goes, so J.
4 is, I would guess, a view held by noted artist and eugenicist D.
5 sounds like the sort of thing a woman would say, so since I know it's not A or E I guess it must be H.
6 - not a clue, but I haven't used C yet.
8 sounds like F.
9 is probably no-nonsense ice-monster I.

1, 4, 9 correct. Three points.

No one at the pub quiz last night got fewer than 6, you know. Three teams got full pointingtons.

That's a discrepancy that can be easily explained.

Why would you know 5 isn't A? I know no such thing.
