I just spent a very delightful couple of hours in Knightsbridge, helping Olivia squeeze her perfectly nimble and toned body into a wedding dress which seemed designed to be precisely half an inch smaller than said nimble body. I would never argue it is one of my gay rights to tell a child they're inferior for being black or Christian, so I wonder why some people think the opposite might be acceptable.

Am on holiday in Madeira. Has rained every day until now. Not pitter patter rain, but torrential downpours which cause trees to fall into the road, giant boulders to roll down the mountain and block the motorways and landslides which carry the coastal road clearaway down the mountain. I went to a super book launch at the CASS Business School last night, for Tim Worstell's new book 'Chasing Rainbows' . His presentation was so good I bought the book. His main focus is on how the green movement hasn't applied much basic economic theory to its attempts to avert climate change, and so in many cases are damaging the environment more ( Read more... )
