My grandmother was making the same meal today because she will be at my aunt's in-law's house for New Year. She wanted us to come but we had to hit the road back to Pittsburgh because even if we came for "lunch" we knew that would be a "trap" and they'd somehow keep us til 5pm. :p So we had to politely refuse. I remember watching the Mummer's Parade when I was a kid! We lived in Wilmington DE., so our TV stations were PA, NJ, and NYC.

We're doing precisely nothing for New Years, aside from watching the ball drop on TV. It's too hard to try and round up babysitting. I think we may try to get some cheap champagne or sparkling cider, and call it a night.
