Final Straight
I had a really sucky driving lesson yesterday. I guess four hours sleep doesn't mix with a Ford Focus and the streets of East London. Didn't hit anything though, but definitely felt that control was something elusive. Blarg.
I just hope it's better next week.

We thought we hears a car idling outside last night. It seemed to go on for a long time, and when we opened the window, the noise didn't increase at all.
So it was coming from inside the house. OK. My first though was that it was the boiler going because someone had left a tap on. I was close.

It's been a busy weekend, of some 8000 words, but finally, FINALLY I'm back on target for Nano. The aim now has to be to not let it slip so far behind again, although the job/life combo might make that difficult.
For now though, sleep.

Plans and numbers
If I do this nanowrimo thing next year, I'm doing some proper, bona fide planning first. The importance of this was brought home to me last night.

This pleases me, as antagonist have been short on the ground so far. Not only does he seem to be pleasingly motivated, but he's given an 800 word speech to the city council outlining the plot! Hurrah! There's also a secondary bad guy, the mother of one of the main characters; although 'bad' may be the wrong word here. She's just ( Read more... ) -
Running faster to stand still
It was all looking so much better on Sunday morning; I'd written 1800 words by 10am, on top of two and a half thousand on Saturday, and it looked like I might even get back on track by the end of the day.
But no, in the event I haven't touched it since and I now need to write 4,500 words by the end of today to keep up with par pace. This would be so ( Read more... ) -
Behind the curve
It was all going so well on Tuesday evening. *sigh*
I had just broken through the 10,000 word barrier, I was just above the required daily average, and all was right with the nano world.
Yesterday took the edge off that, somewhat. The basic reason was that I had to go to Cambourne, which is a little flyspeck of business parks and showhomes somewhere ( Read more... )
