Grimmer has two non-canon powers in Anatole.

Distraction: He'll be able to redirect the attention and thoughts of other people. If he doesn't want you noticing something? He can make you think about something else. Of course, this may not work on other characters with psychic powers.

1) Can Grimmer distract your character?

Yes, but as Lucas is a very wary person, it might not be easy.

2) Are there any illusions which, for plot purposes, you do not want him to see through?

Lucas' noncanon power is to actually create illusions (specifically he'll be using this to pretend people from his world are with him when they are not, or maybe disguise his environment), so if you want Grimmer to be immune to Lucas' illusions, that is 100% okay!
