Today, I saw clearly for the first time in...what...24 years!...without the aid of glasses. I got my trial contact lenses in from the optician. Learning to put them in and take them out went pretty fast, but taking them out again this afternoon was a bit of an ordeal. I still have a touch of that eyeball-touching phobia. Congrats on your contacts! I love them... I wouldn't trade mine for the world! Peripheral vision and the extra clarity is wonderful. I still wear my Coke-bottle glasses around the house sometimes, but now they are the ones that seem surreal.

But yes it's awesome to be able to wear sunglasses, and if you really want to have some fun, pick up a pair of special contacts (I have some cat-eye ones I wear on Halloween and whenever I want to freak people out).

Congrats - contacts are definitely the way - they can be annoying and irritating at times, and painful, if you forgot to put the neutralizing tablet into the cleaning liquid - as i have (if you have that kind of system - def. not recomended!) But I'd never go back to just glasses, and that has very little to do with apperances. Contacts are better in most any situation, especially ones involving rain.
Do check out 24h contacts - I have that now - and it's made me put any plans for laser surgery on the back burner. Just change lenses every month, and you can enjoy the opportunity of clear vision in the middle of the night.
