I dunno. I see some of that stuff and it looks like music I could read alot into. Some of that is on my list. But other stuff on the list, to me, isn't stuff I could get many layers from with more listens. Don't get me wrong, not everyone wants to ponder the metaphysical whenever they put in a Beck album, but that's just how I've found myself listening to music lately.

I understand what you are saying. I try to keep it mixed up, myself. To use a term you once used when talking about music(though probably not in the same context as you did, I'm not sure?), I see albums like Off The Wall, Midnite Vultures and the "easy" listens on the list to be sort of "de-tox" music. I could go into this a bit more but I have to work!

we both have elliott smith's xo on our list....and i love that you have ben folds five "the unaurthorized biography of reinhold mezner"...it's such a freaken good album!

I stand alone in thinking that Figure 8 was his best album.

I haven't given XO a proper listen, though.

i had figure 8 on my top 25 but then i didn't want another elliott smith album on my top 25 so i chose xo.

figure 8 is seriously soooo good too. "son of sam"...how can you go wrong with that song? and "wouldn't mama be proud?" oh man. i probably should have kept it on there!
