Susan kept the flag flying at Ingleside all the next day, in honour of Italy's declaration of war. Walter had gone to town on the early train, but Nan offered to look after Jims for the day and so set Rilla and Annie free. Rilla had a routine that she seldom deviated from: give Jims his evening bottle around six-thirty, give him a bath and settle him in for the night, then read the newspaper, mail from home and knit a portion of a sock before seeing if anything interesting was happening in a common room ( Read more... ) -

Rilla decided to be productive while Jims was taking his nap and 'phoned up her five crush invitees not one of which received the message and telling them about the sorority's party on Friday evening.
