The van is fixed and oh so very clean. And it made it through another day in Vancouver without getting broken into again. Just about every Vancouverite we've talked to since yesterday has had a "the time my car was broken into" story ... a cop who happened to be a the auto glass place at the same time as my aunt yesterday said his car had been

Note to self: when visiting Vancouver just leave the car windows down. OTOH, it does rain a lot there. Hmmmmmm.

The popular anti-theft strategy, apparently, is simply to leave absolutely nothing in your car, ever. Someone once broke into Lisa's car to go through her trash bag!

Btw, I've been doing some writing. :) I haven't decided whether I'll try typing any of it up before the end of the trip. I'll see how things go in the evenings!

No (in the end I was too worried about squishing it) but actually my family has a whole laptop for me to use! Sharing with Winter, the youngest cousin, but still. Sky even set up a desktop for me with a very attractive Spike wallpaper!

So actually the only thing stopping me from spending half the day writing on the laptop (in the car) is motion sickness. :P
