[A very groggy Akihiko is seen on screen now, enabling the video function. It's hard to figure out which is truly the worse thing to wake up to - non-stop cake messages on his Dreamberry, or the sound of the Inspector questioning him.

Rubbing his head and trying to focus, a sigh escapes him. He tries to remain as respectful as possible.]

I'm really not sure what happened, Sir.

[And all of a sudden, Akihiko finds himself receiving another text. With the same message. All he can really do is shake his head, this is hardly the sort of thing he wanted to be bothered with at this hour... But it would be rude to ignore it. This one actually has a return address though - maybe this cake is really just a new Dreamberry function? It's still unusual that the original one came from anonymous though...

He texts back;]

[And once it sends, he takes the beep! of confirmation to be his cue to lay back down and cover his head with his pillow.]

[he laughed a little at seeing this. whoever pulled this was thoughtful. but instead of replying to the text itself, Otonashi deleted the messages and makes his own.

in voice: ] By the time you receive this, I'm not sure what you're going to do today... but I hope that you have a good day. Happy birthday, Akihiko.

[The voice message, thankfully, doesn't send him half a million cake texts. Instead, it just causes the NEW VOICEMAIL RECEIVED notification to flash on his screen. It's, thankfully, capable of being ignored for now... Or would be, if other inhabitants of Somarium weren't incessantly (unintentionally) spamming his inbox with cake after cake.

With sleep simply not happening, he sits up and listens to the message. Tired as he is, it still brings a bit of a smile to his face. He chooses to reply as a text:]

Thanks, I have to work but I'm sure I'll find something enjoyable to do.

[Damn it, Flynn.

Yet another cake message vibrates and beeps and probably plays a Truetone version of Happy Birthday but Akihiko's face is buried in his pillow, trying to ignore the message. But, due to technology being the evil master it tends to be, he can only give up and check who has sent him another greeting. Between deleting a bunch sent by a load of random NPCs people he's never heard of, he catches one sent by Scifo. He can't really just delete that one and get on with it.

He texts back a response:]

Thanks. Are you patrolling 2nd or 3rd tomorrow?

[OH GOD, NO. KEN, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!

Unbeknownst to Ken, after hitting Y, every button he pressed after that sent Akihiko the message all over again. Sitting in his inbox from Ken Hidaka is ninety-six messages of the original cake text, the final one being Ken's own message.

Akihiko is just going to be staring at the screen for a moment.]
