The only political entry of mine you'll ever see.

I deleted the entry. I had quoted someone else's LJ whose opinions I share about politics and the election in general, and mistakenly assumed that some of the more ambitious political bloggers would do like I did when reading theirs which would be respect my opinion like I've respected theirs. I don't believe in cramming my opinion down other ( Read more... )

I always try to stay away from politics online... in person, with people I know, I talk politics all day... but online, people seem to forget their tact-hats.
I didn't get to read your initial post, but I can't imagine why anyone feels a need to attack someone for their political beliefs.
These things are deeply personal, and you have every right to talk about them all you want, especially in your own personal internet space.

Thanks, I just didn't like the way things were turning, and I felt like people were just trying to start a fight for the sake of fighting. If I had felt passionately enough about what I said I wouldn't have deleted it, I would have stood by it, but I had only reposted something someone else said that I agreed with, so I was just like "screw it"

Hey there guy. It looks like I missed your (now deleted) post. I know I get politicky from time-to-time, so I hope it was nothing I said...

I can definitely get a bit emotional when it comes to elections.

oh no way, I would never complain on my LJ about something you wrote in your own and not even tell you. There's so many people writing about the elections that I can't even keep straight which person said what. I posted something I agreed with from someone elses journal and I just didn't want to turn my LJ into a political boxing ring, so I deleted it. But then I felt like I needed to explain why I deleted it. And hey, there's nothing wrong with getting emotional when it comes to elections!
