once again...i have to ask what you're talking about! Did someone submit that to you? where did you find it? that's funny though.

When I was unemployed in Calgary for a year, desperately searching for work, I sent off one my strongest applications to UBC. Merely seconds after I'd faxed it did I realize that on my cover letter I had opened with 'Dir Sir'

Smooth.

P.S. I didn't get the job.

Heh. It was on a freelance writing resume board.

I've been submitting a lot of articles and resumes for freelance gigs. I'm almost out of work, as the full-time job I've been holding will no longer need my services by the end of this month. So...I need something to hold me over until I find another job. The freelancing thing has actually been working in my favor. Hopefully it will hold me over until I find another job. Talk about wingin' it!

By the way, "Dir Sir," isn't all THAT bad...This would be bad:

Dir Sir:

I luv yo Univercity. It is soooo phat. I dessprettly want two work hear. Will ewe hier me? I'm a litterary sexpert and I like cottin candee.

Luv,

I'd kill myself if I had to do freelance work. The one thing I'm even more incapable at than working for someone else, is spending hours writing little enquiry letters where 90% of them go nowhere. Just talking about it sucks my life force...

Sounds like you have quite the knack for it, though...

Anything is better than what I'm doing now...even freelancing.
