The lava flow in Hawaii has always fascinated me. I saw it up close about 20 years ago, and flew over it in a helicopter a few years later. Now it is destroying homes again. How would you like to have this in your back yard?

On July 28, 1979 I married Ray The Man, and it was a very happy day in my life. I remember his deep, strong voice reciting the vows as he looked straight into my eyes with love and sincerity.

He was the best husband a woman could ever hope to have, and I have missed him every single day for the past five years.

My grandsons advanced to green/white belts in karate yesterday. They have been working at it twice a week for several years now.

We had a blast! Just arrived back home yesterday. Our camp site was right by the south fork of the Merced River, and featured a swimming hole with a ROPE SWING!!! My grandsons had so much fun they couldn't stand it.

On Easter I met up with my family just outside Yosemite at the Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp. We stayed there a couple of nights, heading into the National Park each day to explore. I am so excited that Janet Yellen has been confirmed as Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank. She was my economics professor at Cal Berkeley. She had dark brown hair then.
