Livin' La Vida Homo

When are these celebrities going to realize that no one cares if they're gay? Hell, if Ricky Martin had come out BEFORE his career went down the tubes, he might have eked out another 15 minutes of fame. Take notes, Ryan Seacrest.

Well... almost no one cares. Don't underestimate girly fantasy life and flat denial. My girl insists Adam Lambert is actually bi, in spite of his directly saying that he's not but is kind of amused by women who insist so.

But she is talking about him right? Still listens to him, buys his records? If she wants to THINK he's bi, who cares... she's still paying him. His coming out has gay has had no negative effect on his career (which is ironic, since it is probably what kept him from winning Idol,) and in fact has BOOSTED it. Everyone is talking about Adam Lambert. When was the last time you heard about the guy that actually WON?

Oh, sure. I'm just saying that someone does care - even if it's totally irrelevant to whether his albums are bought. As for myself, I'd decided to buy his music before the competition was done. (Two out so far: One album is entertaining; the other is boring. Such is life.) Any half-functional gaydar registered off the charts pretty quickly with Adam, but danged if I have a clue what that has to do with his performances, outside of an unusual comfortability with camp and glam.

Like you said, who cares, in any functional way, if he's gay? He seems to think someone does, because he keeps weighing in on totally irrelevant things. I'd be as happy if he'd stop trying to be Significant and just perform. 'Course, the same is true for most musicians who forget that blathering isn't entertaining.
