Prescription medication for manic depression and bipolar disorder of all kinds are not, despite the stereotypes, meant to conk you out and desensitize you. What they actually do is stabilize the inherent hormonal and chemical imbalances, just enough to subdue the raging insecurities and internal monologues tearing at you each day. I'm sure you've seen flyers in corner laundermats indicating free mental disease help for those who qualify; take the advice of another sufferer; don't be too proud to pursue the option. the worst that can happen is nothing, that you wake up another day realizing it's another painful day. the best that can happen is a new life.
if nothing else, remember that, even if you don't believe it (and you probably don't), millions of americans are currently suffering from the very problems you write about. Myself included. Don't be selfish enough to assume you're alone. Seek help.

Thank you... I know that I am not alone, my father has bipolar disorder and I have watched him go through the struggles of dealing with it... however it is still hard to face this, i guess... Thank you for your response, and I wish the best for you.
