Feeling a bit better, maybe I'll tour again tomorrow!

I went on a walk to a glacier today, it was really pretty!

Also, if I do this again, I'm bringing some waterproof shoe covers, water proof pants, water proof cycling gloves and some long underwear.

Had a good time riding down the west coast the last few days.. but it's started to rain a lot! And it's cold. So I've gone and got myself a good head and chest cold. At the franz joeseph glaciar now.

So, apparently I've bent my bike's fork inward a little bit. You can see if you look at it from the side. The right side is a little more in than the left, so it steers to the right a little. But, it's still structurally sound (I think), so I'm going to do a little more touring on it. But I'm definitely probably scaling back the touring I'll be ( Read more... )

So, 10 minutes into my ride this morning I ran straight into a raised triangular bit of pavement at about 20 km/h. I was riding down a main street, with a side street merging with it. Just arrived in the south island today. Wellington was great, fun city.

I read Snow Crash over the last couple of days, it was a really good read.

Tomorrow I'm riding a century and a bit to Nelson. Then I'm catching a bus to either Greymouth or Westport in order to make it there in time for the wild foods festival. Woo! :)

I'm in Wellington, the capitol of NZ now. Been a pretty boring couple of days the last few days from Stratford to Paraparaumu, where I took the train for the last 50 km into the city. Flat riding, lots of traffic and not much scenery! :P Itll be nice to take a break, I've been getting a little tired of the biking. I've been riding around 70 km ( Read more... )
