Back off
There are few things as terrifying as thinking you just accidentally deleted everything you had stored on your hard disks (photos, taxes, schoolwork, etc). Especially if you've had major data loss before.
I guess I should pony up money for serious online backup service. -

The more I look at apartments the more I'm convinced we weren't getting as bad a deal as I'd thought. Damn.

NIN is in
Went to see Nine Inch Nails out in Jersey tonight. It was a pretty good show. The setlist was long and had almost all of the stuff I'd want to see (including Gave Up and Wish), and the lighting effects were really impressive. What I think is great is that I found out about the concert when I read an article talking about how NIN was giving away ( Read more... ) -

I think my projector died. Not the bulb, the actual projector. Of course it happened the day after Mike (the half-owner) left, and I hesitate to dissect it or anything in his absence. So I guess I'm down a projector for at least a week.

Return
I just got back from spending a week in Paris with Tatiana (and occasionally some of her friends). It was a fantastic week, and everything went pretty much perfectly. I am sad to see it end. I've just finished catching up on a bunch of my email/sites/feeds, and should probably sleep (since it's 4am Paris time). I'll probably post more about ( Read more... ) -
arrived
I've arrived in Paris. I managed to get the apartment despite the woman with keys not speaking any English and me not speaking any French. Lots of gesturing, nodding, and writing numbers on paper. I'm fine on energy but at some point the solitary hour of sleep on the plane is going to catch up with me ( Read more... ) -

I've been waiting for the 3G iPhone since before the 2G models came out, and earlier this week I decided that since I'm flying to Paris tomorrow I'd want my new wifi-browser with me to help find stuff while out and about. On Monday I went back to the doctor for my follow-up, saying that I was back to hurting like hell, and that it seemed the one thing that had really helped with the water IV I'd had in the ER. He asked if I wanted to get one there. It took a while to set up because apparently dehydration makes it harder to get needles into your veins. Eventually ( Read more... )
