Look. I know I personally don't feel comfortable telling a guy he can't plug another guy in the butt in the privacy of his own home, let alone get up and go vote against it.

Don't feel too bad that prop 2 passed. It was largely a scam by the Republican leadership in Austin to show the Republican voter base that they actually did something in order to cover up their absolute failure to pass any meaningful legislation during the session. Prop 2 makes no substantive changes to public policy... "gay marriage" was already prohibited by state law. Any legal challenge to current public policy on the issue would go through federal courts, not the almost exclusively Republican state courts. The federal court has the right to set aside a state constitutional provision just as they had the right to set aside a law not expressly mentioned in the state constitution. While I'm sure you were not happy with the status quo, it wasn't made any worse by the vote on prop 2. If conservatives were smart and wanted to advocate smaller government, they would have strongly opposed propositions 1 and 3 which are no more than massive handouts to the big business and special interest groups who, through their lobbyists, were able to
