So on Sunday (my one day off) I went to Gyeonbukgong with a co-worker. Gyeonbukgong is a Chosun Dynasty (1392-1910) palace in the middle of downtown Seoul. There are actually 5 palaces from that period in close proximity to each other. I guess they didn't feel much like spreading out. We're reading a book about Elian Gonzalez in my one class. As a result, I decided to draw parallels between Cuba and North Korea. To me, they're quite obvious. Both countries are failed communist countries that restrict the freedoms of their people. So I mention North Korea to my kids and say "is North Korea a good country or a bad country ( Read more... )

So, I've been here 8 weeks now. I'm not sure if 8 weeks is a long time or not, but it seems like I've been here forever. Wednesday will be two months. If I was at school for 8 weeks, it would be mid-term time. It feels weird to not have mid-terms, or papers to write, or books to read.
