The benefit Saturday night had been full of surprises for Terry Boot. The first, and best, was finding that one of his best mates, Anthony Goldstein,
hadn't been sucked into the earth the past few months and wanted to revive their flagging friendship. The biggest, and worst, was discovering that somehow, over the course of the last four weeks, Terry had neglected to
tell Michael Corner that he and Lisa were dating. It hadn't been an intentional failure on Terry's part, but he didn't know that Michael would see it that way. Now, on Monday morning, he was supposed to move house and join Michael and Greg at #44 South Vinewood. He only hoped that Michael wouldn't kick his sorry arse out before he even got into the house. Somehow he had to find a way to make things right with Mikey.
Figuring that 10 o'clock wasn't too early to head over, he rose around 7 a.m., finished packing up the belongings in his room and his few personal items (especially cooking supplies and utensils) in the kitchen and living room, and cast the appropriate cleaning charms in his room. At 10 o'clock he donned his cloak and, with a locomotor spell, sent his boxes of belongings ahead of him the short distance to his new home. At least he still hoped it would be his new home. If Michael hexed him badly enough, Terry's new home might be St. Mungo's. From his discussion with Lisa Saturday night, it sounded as though Michael was
seriously pissed off about being left in the dark. Terry wasn't concerned that Michael actually wanted to go out with Lisa himself; he was worried, though, that Michael thought he'd intentionally left him in the dark. Though if Michael did fancy Lisa too, that would make things even worse.
I am too stupid to live, he thought morosely as he rang the magical doorbell at #44.
