Ok, not sure how I have the honour of being the first comment, but I really loved this! It was so clever the way you drew canon into your own storyline - I may have squeed a little when Cas did the "I did it, all of it, for you! And this is how you repay me?!" bit :)
Also I really liked how it didn't just end when Cas stopped being his therapist. A lot of stories just kind of do a quick getting together, the end thing and I love that we actually got to see their relationship mature and for them to get their lives in order.
And now you've made me evaluate my life too, lol! Am I in my dream job??
Thank you SO MUCH for the feedback! I'm really excited that you liked this! And that you picked up on the canon references/parallels. I alternated between being afraid that I'd made them too obscure and that I'd made them too obvious. ^^'
Haha, I actually intended the story at a much earlier point than it does in the final version, but there was just NO WAY I could resolve everything I wanted to and still have it end there, so...another 15000 words it was.
Oh no! I'm sorry about that. Just...as long as you're happy, I suppose?
Anyway, thanks again! Nothing makes me happier than hearing how people liked my work. :)
Awesome read, and so deliciously written <3_<3 Like the previous poster I adored the parallels to canon; like when Sam chose Ruby over his brother (that still stings, btw xD) Again, absolutely lovely!
Eee, thank you so much! (I never actually expected anyone to read this, let alone like it, so I'm quite excited by the feedback!) Oh, Sam. I love his character, but he broke my little fangirl heart, there, so I thought it might be fun (see: horrifically heartwrenching) to include that as a parallel. :D
This was fantastic! So utterly fantastic that I'm trying not to just sputter out nonsense here, because in my head, I'm still going, "afdjioefw;hofeaholyfuckingcrapthisisamazing".
And all the little bits of canon--"I gave up everything I’ve worked for, all for you. And this-This is how you repay me?"--were amazingly well worked in.
