Location: Weyrleaders' Office

Players: R'vain and Roa
Scene: The weyrwoman would like to throw herself a one-woman pity party, but R'vain crashes it with a backrub. R'en and Miniyal get discussed at length. Issa gets a mention, Ashwin gets several, and the Headmaster gets both attacked and defended.

She might come to the dance, if only to point out that one, she did so and two, the experience gave her yet more proof for why the entire institution is horrible and its headmaster more horrible still.

There's third reason, you know. Lalala. But I won't mention it since you've got that whole *whine whine premature labor* thing going on. ;)

That aside it is fun to watch these two work together. Even if there is this silly idea in the room about being able to 'manage' Miniyal.

Oh, it's okay. She's pretty much full-term now. ;)

I find it interesting that R'vain is unable to grasp the concept of telling R'en about Tavaly not as an official thing but just as a friend. I think that's the difference that's upsetting Roa. And I wonder what R'vain would and would not tell Ella. Or has told her already.

R'en's a guard (at heart), it's almost iconic. To some degree there's a respect present that may hinder friendship, like R'vain expects that there are rituals of right and wrong that must be observed, and of course he wouldn't really expect a friendship to take precedence over what's 'proper.' He is wrong, but there's some reason for how he sees R'en, and it has to do with the pedestal of Guardship.

"There ain't no losin' with Min'yal s'long as you remember there ain't no win that don't hurt

Man, does Issa need to hear that right now.

Just not at these things, they set his teeth on edge

See that's why Roa's a good girlfriend. Issa just makes Reyce go and bribes him if she has to.

I think both Issa and Reyce have a ruthless streak, and neither of them really hesitates to use said streak on the other.

Which is part of why the relationship works.

And part of why they frequently make each other sad.

You guys are so pessimistic.

Reyce knows that Issa likes going to these things. He also knows that she will bribe him to go with her. There's equilibrium here.

Plus his player finds it entertaining to attend.
