Gobsmacked

RPGnet can be a lot like fandom_wank, sometimes. And I mean that in the fondest way applicable to either. A whole lot of furor and rambling over tiny little details... but then once in a while people start digging because of some fandom tempest, and actually come up with relevant, useful information that no one else had dragged out to the light before.

RPGnet helped me out one time, a few years back. I'd commissioned an artist to do the cover for Bulldogs based on his online portfolio. He posted something about it and then the RPGnet users noticed that his portfolio consisted of art that was not his. Someone from the thread e-mailed me to warn me about it and I luckily canceled the contract before I was out any money.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the subject at hand, but I wanted to say thanks. My sister gave birth at the end of October, and I suggested that whole 'everyone take a picture of today' idea. It went over awesome. So, thanks for that.
