waiting is depressing

Well, I'm sitting here waiting on responses. My former coworker said he'd heard good things about my phone screens with Big Fish, but they've yet to get back to me. I have a phone screen with another company which I'm... not sure about. Don't read too much into it. The wait is part of it.

Before I can call smoeone to make a job offer, I have to do a bunch of paperwork first, find out where the person will sit, order equipment from IT and Qwest and such, get permission from higher level managers who are often out of town, etc....

Oh, I know that it's not me. Heck, they aren't even at the point where they would make me a job offer--I've yet to do an in-person interview. Even that can be a pain in the ass to set up, since you need to find a good time for the developers who will be talking to the candidate, and you'll need three or more consecutive hours in some space... Further, they are interviewing me for a couple of potential positions, so they may be trying to decide up front on my suitability to try to balance who will be interviewing me appropriately.

I know all these things in the rational, sensible part of my brain, and that's not the part that's worried.
