Well, after all of that, Big Fish isn't going to hire me. On with the job search...

Next week I'll have the second round of interviews, so they liked me well enough after the first to bring me back.

I had my first interview with Big Fish today, about five hours of grilling from various sorts. They had me doing all sorts of problems--trying to figure out how to work a MLM-like payoff scheme in SQL was crazy, and trying to figure out every anagram for any given word was painful but kinda fun. Well, I'm sitting here waiting on responses. My former coworker said he'd heard good things about my phone screens with Big Fish, but they've yet to get back to me. I have a phone screen with another company which I'm... not sure about. I had my second phone screen with Big Fish. It was delayed until not-too-long-ago from last Friday. Sounded good overall, so here's hoping.

Introductory phone screen down, next is scheduled for tomorrow. It could take a while--the HR person I spoke with told me they normally do two technical phone screens (which the call yesterday was not), and two in-person interviews.

I've got half a dozen other leads right now too. Hopefully I'll be employed by month's end. :)

Friday night was a big shindig to see off the three laid off devs, Pam, netropic, and myself, and much fun was had. Saw a lot of people I hadn't for a while, talked to people I hadn't spoken much with in a while, and drank too much. We went over yesterday and took a bunch of pics, which can be found here. It was originally built in 1905 and it's a neat little house.
